If you are looking for fun, active classes near you then have a look at Tumble Tots, the UK’s first structured physical play program for children from 6 months to 7 year olds. Most of us remember going to Tumble Tots Classes when we were younger and recall those bright yellow t-shirts!
Here is Clio, the boss lady at Tumble Tots Winchester to explain why staying active as a child is important and why she chose to purchase the Tumble Tots Winchester Franchise.
For as long as I can remember I wanted to work with children. As far back as being a child myself, babysitting for neighbours and family friends. I become a Private Nanny after studying for my National Diploma in Early Years at Bath City College and jumped at the change to buy into the Tumble tots franchise when it came up. Back in January 2018 I purchased the Tumble Tots Winchester Franchise. We launched our first ever class on Monday 16th April 2018 in Itchen Abbas, just north of Winchester.
Why? Well I’ve seen first-hand how Tumble Tots classes help the children grow in confidence while learning that keeping active is fun and allowing children to learn through play. I was lucky enough to take some of the children I nannied for over the years to Tumble Tots in other locations. I love the ethos of Tumble Tots and all the lovely people I work with and the babies and children I get to see grow with confidence, leaving each class with a great big smile or tears because they want to stay!
Tumble Tots actually Launched in 1979 in Southampton. Tumble Tots is all about teaching your little ones to move, enjoy physical activity and learn skills that are needed in life that none of us can really remember how we learned. Do you remember who taught you how to jump, skip or hop? Tumble Tots is more than a toddler gymnastics class. We are a community that want to pass on skills for life.
Tumble Tots is designed to develop children’s physical skills of agility, balance, co-ordination and climbing. This is done through the use of brightly coloured Tumble Tots equipment.
All our classes are run by staff specially trained and use unique equipment that is structured according to the stages of your child’s development.
It’s a well-known fact that children should be getting at least 3-hours of physical exercise as part of their day. We all agree that exercise needs to be fun, and here at Tumble Tots that’s our aim!
Our Tumble Tots classes are split into 4 different age groups.
With your help, we run the 45-minute session to help encourage babies to use all their senses, gently and without pressure. This involves playing, exploring, crawling together in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Our aim and objectives are to enhance brain development through play and to stimulate the babies interest of their surroundings.
Once they are able to confidently walk, and they have been given their Walking award they are then ready for the next class up!
These classes gently stimulate body awareness and encourage the confident walker to attempt climbing, jumping and rolling. In this class, parents help the children to build on their interest in words through body identification action songs which are specially chosen to encourage language development.
We change the equipment every 2 weeks to keep your child self-motivated and constantly gaining confidence. Once your child has turned 2 and they are ready for some more structure we move them up to the next class.
These fun and active sessions will teach your child to listen carefully so that they can follow a two-part instruction. They also encourage your child to follow simple rules and take turns without being reminded.
The equipment is split into different areas and helps increase your child’s confidence and self-esteem. We encourage chat and laughter and participate in action songs to get everyone ready for the fun session ahead.
Without parent guidance, these sessions are all about boosting confidence, developing their fine motor skills, tackling tasks and gaining new skills like agility, balance, climbing and co-ordination.
In this class we set a high standard of behaviour to give the child practice at following rules and adapting their behaviour to different situations. In this session we teach children to wait their turn, learn from watching others and work as part of a group. We encourage children to make simple decisions and choices and show how their opinion and their efforts are valued. Children will learn to listen to, recall and join in with action songs, thus developing creativity.
We have a range of classes to suit everyone and really feel that we offer skills for life. Have a look at our timetable below and we hope to see you soon!
