Splash parks in Southampton, Totton, Hedge End and Portsmouth are the perfect place for a paddle, and some are free!

When the sun is out, there’s nothing better than cooling the kids off in one of Hampshires many splash parks and paddling pools.

Many of them are free!

A few do have parking charges so remember to take change. In bad weather, they may close so check social media for regular updates.

Paddling Pools and Splash Parks in Southampton and surrounding area

Hedge End Paddling Pool

Hedge End Paddling Pool is a five minute walk away from the centre of Hedge End on St Johns Recreational ground. There’s a shop so you can buy refreshments and ice creams as well as toilets on site.

To park, it’s best to use the Town Council car park on St Johns Road as along the road can be very busy.

Hedge End Paddling Pool normally opens daily between May to September, 10:30am - 5pm. The paddling pool is managed by Hedge End Town Council and more details can be found on their website here.

Testwood Paddling Pool

Totton & Eling Town Council run Testwood, Hanger Farm and Eling Water Park. These splash parks are free to use.

These are unsupervised pools and do swap and change opening times depending on the weather. Please check the Totton and Eling Council website for the times.

Fleming Park Paddling Pool

Fleming Park paddling pool is next to the play park on Passfield Avenue in Eastleigh.

It opens on the last May Bank holiday until the first weekend in September regardless of the weather. Daily opening hours are normally 10am to 7pm.

They have toilets on site and a gated park with a small sandpit for the kids. There’s plenty of benches and grass inside the paddling pool area. There’s not much shade, so remember to bring hats or an umbrella.

Southampton Common Play Park

Completely gated, this is a cross between a small splash park and huge adventure playground.

One side is sandy with water sprays and the other is the park.

There’s a toilet on site and a small café that sells ice creams and lunch items.

This park is perfect for kids 3 and up that are happy to get wet and sandy.

Lymington Sea Water Baths

Lymington Sea Water Baths is a fully staffed pool with the option of renting out inflatables. There’s a kids splash pool for the little ones, a on site café plus toilets and changing rooms.

There is an admission charge and the prices do vary. Please see the Lymington Sea Water Baths for opening times and prices.

New Forest Aqua Park

This is like nothing you’ve seen before! The New Forest Aqua Park is a huge 4,000sq meters floating inflatable that has 2 trampolines, monkey bars, rollers and loads of other fun obstacles.

You do have to swim to gain access and under 11s do need adult supervision.

There’s a café onsite and toilets. Parking is at the club house.

Water Kingdom at Paultons Park

Part of the admission price of Paultons Park, Water Kingdom is a huge gated splash park where you can let the kids go wild.

With sprays, water buckets and pistols, this splash park is perfect for the hot weather.

It’s great for all ages but if your little one prefers a smaller splash park, then try Muddy Puddles splash park in Peppa Pig World. It has smaller sprays and a place for the kids to jump up and down in the little puddles.

Both are directly next to a huge playground, toilets and a café.

Southsea Splash Pool

Southsea splash pool is perfect for kids under 8 who just want to run and just have fun.

It’s enclosed with two paddling pools and a small park.

It has a café on site and loads of places to stick your blanket.

Gosport Splash Park

On the seafront at Stokes Bay, this is perfect for kids under seven. There's plenty of pay and display parking and toilets.

There’s a small slide into the splash park and a few water jets to enjoy. The park next door is on a green with a few benches for picnics.

Hilsea Jubilee Splash Pool

Completely free, the Hilsea Jubilee Splash Pool is great for kids eight and under.

There’s toilets on site with baby changing and benches for a picnic

Parking is free on site and there’s a café if needed.

Blue Reef Aquarium Beach Club

Included in the price of admission, Blue Reef Portsmouth overlooks the seafront and has a small splash area for kids.

It has jets and water pools for the kids and s small park on site.

Opening times are the same as the aquarium and can be found here on their website.

Petersfield Open Air Swimming Pool

Petersfield Open Air Swimming Pool is heated and great for the whole family.

They have changing cubicles, showers and toilets.

There’s a café on site but they do have benches and sun loungers for hire.

Paddling Pools and Splash Parks in Basingstoke and surrounding area

Eastrop Park 

A small walk from Festival Place, Eastrop Park is a treasure trove of activities. It has a boating lake, tree trail and a small splash park and playground for the kids.

There’s toilets and a café on site with loads of benches and shaded areas to put a blanket.

Chineham Splash Pad

Completely free, Chineham Splash Pad is great for the little ones.

It does fill up quickly, so getting their early is advised.

There’s no official toilets or café but facilities can be found about five minute’s walk away.

Parking is limited with a small amount being at the park and the rest having to be found on the nearby streets.

Aldershot Lido

With three water flumes, water fountains and paddling pool, Aldershot Lido is the place to be on a hot day!
