Bank Holiday Weekend Activities

We’re keeping our fingers crossed and have put in an order for the sun to shine over bank holiday weekend. There are so many things going on across Hampshire, we’re spoilt for choice on how to spend the long weekend, we’ve collated a list of the events below…

South East Hampshire

Victorious Festival

27/28 Aug Southsea Common. Tickets £35 per day, 5-15 yrs £7, under 5s £1. Includes kids arena with many fun activities. Main acts include Manic Street Preachers, Travis, Will Young and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.

Southsea Castle Champagne Bar

26 Aug 6pm-12am. Free Entry. One for the mums who need a stiff drink to survive the weekend!

Abshot Family fun day

28 Aug 1-5pm Abshot Community Centre. Kids activities including bouncy castle, glitter tattoos, local police and fire vehicles. Fish and chips, cakes, tea and coffee and bar open all day.

Miniature Mayhem Mobile Farm, Southsea Model village

28 Aug 10.30am-3.30pm £3 for adults, £2 for children or £9 for family of 4. Meet horses, goats, sheep, rabbits and guinea pigs.

Meet the Romans, Butser Ancient farm

27/28 Aug Join us at Butser for Roman cooking, fantastic weaponry, authentic costumes, ancient carpentry, Roman numerals and archery demonstrations.

Family Fun Day – Portsmouth Golf Course, Waterlooville

29 Aug 11am-5pm Entry is free, activities include a bouncy castle, BBQ, face painting, putting competition and DJ.

Emsworth Show, Horndean Rd

29 Aug 10.30am-5.30pm Adults £4, kids free. Free park and ride, no parking at site. Fun includes a dog show, falconry, over 75 stalls, music, bee keeping, classic cars and many more.

Titchfield Village Fayre

28 Aug From 11.30am at Barrys Meadow. Lots of stalls, dog show, pimms tent, punch and judy and village tug of war.

Petersfield Summer Festival

27/28/29 Aug Free entry with music, market stalls and kids entertainment. For Star Wars fans there will be characters attending and a chance to take your picture with the landspeeder.


South West Hampshire

Beatrix Potter Family Fun Weekend – Mottisfont National Trust Property

27/28 Aug 10am-5pm Enjoy lots of additional Beatrix Potter-themed fun, including storytelling and drop-in craft sessions with artists.

Somerly Beer and Music Festival

27 Aug 12noon-11pm. Live bands playing all day, local produce for sale, bouncy castle and face painting, food, wine and pimms tasting. Don’t forget 150+ beers to taste.

August Fair – Southampton Common

26-29 Aug 10am-9.30pm. Lots of rides and a market on Monday.

Water Fun Day  – Southampton Water Activities Centre

26 Aug 1.30pm-4.30pm. Try kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, rowing, sailing and powerboating.

Zombie Encounters  – Bursledon Brickworks

26 Aug 9-10.30pm. One for an adults night out, prepare to be scared!! This tour is designed to terrify in very dark places, not sure i’m brave enough.

Sunday Funday – Lloyds recreation ground, Marchwood

28 Aug 1-8pm. Family festival raising money for Southampton General Hospital


Mid Hampshire

Graze Festival, Winchester

28 Aug. Explore a diverse range of local food producers and musicians with a dedicated kids area offering willow weaving, face painting, arts and crafts and a theatre group.

Fairthorne Family Festival

26-29 Aug. Prices include overnight accommodation in your own tent or a limited number of YMCA tents are available to hire if needed. Outdoor entertainment and full board catering included from dinner on day of arrival to lunch on the day of departure. Evening entertainment also included, there is a campfire on one night. Activities include kayaking, jumpy pillow, aqua slide and den building to name a few.

North Hampshire

Car fest – Laverstoke Park Farm, Hampshire

26-28 Aug. Carfest is a weekend of music cars and fun for the whole family. Lots of childrens activities.

The Vyne, Make a trail with Sticks

27 Aug 12noon-1pm, £1 in addition to normal admission charges. Young outdoor adventurers can join us for an hour creating unique trails and seeing if anyone can follow it.
