We’ve got a brilliant new competition for you this week to win two pairs of tickets to ‘have a go’ at either windsurfing or stand up paddle boarding (SUP) at the National Watersports Festival (NWF) which is taking place on Hayling Island over the weekend of the 2 – 4th September.
Not to be missed…
This year the event is celebrating its 10th anniversary and annually attracts around 500 competitors in windsurfing or SUP who come to race, attend clinics from top coaches, demo the new kit from the trade show, camp and of course party, with live music both night and day.
The event, which is now a well-loved fixture on Hampshire’s late summer event scene also attracts around 10,000 spectators who come to watch the racing (sometimes hundreds of sails can be seen in any one race), mingle with the sporting ‘celebs’, enjoy a drink from the outside bar, chill out and enjoy the music or marvel at the pros who come out at night to perform amazing freeride, floodlit stunts.
Someone might wave a bucket at you for a couple of quid to go towards costs (free for children) and the designated charity, Rowan’s Hospice but apart from that it’s free to attend during the day and an ideal place to take the kids for a cheap, fun day out before they go back to school.
What can you get involved with?
This year there’s a ton of stuff for the whole family to get involved in including Water Zorbs, Climbing Walls, a Lynx Helicoper to explore and a variety of SUP events – SUP Polo, PugilSUP, SUP Tug o’War and SUP Pilates. Plus of course the racing to watch and taster sessions, if you fancy a go.
Talking of ‘having a go’, we’ve got two pairs of tickets for you to win taster sessions, so you can try either windsurfing or Stand Up Paddle Boarding. All you need is a swim suit and everything else will be provided for you.
