Top Hampshire Hotels for knackered parents

Got a child free night and want to go wild in a way only knackered parents can? Here’s some hotel recommendations to help you make the most of it as we all know it’ll be another 6 months before you’re able to find another willing babysitter (if it’s less you’re lucky or bribing someone!!). This is our carefully crafted list of the top 8 hotels that are within a short drive from home so less time travelling and more time spa-ing (yup just created a new word), drinking, eating and sleeping.

All are by personal recommendation or recommended by friends and I’d be sure to go back to them all. They all also feature spa and swimming facilities, enjoy!

The Goodwood Hotel, Chichester

So technically not in Hampshire but only a short drive (am I allowed this one?) is The Goodwood Hotel. Set at the heart of the glorious 12,000 acre Goodwood Estate, it’s stylish and luxurious without being stuffy. We have stayed here on a wild child free night and it’s lovely! Big swimming pool complete with loungers to relax around, a spa with treatments (and you can get good packages online with spa treatments included) and really nice rooms. Restaurant and drinks were also excellent, think cocktails and steak!

Rooms from £150+ (weekend rates)

Spa – Yup, lovely (as in pictures above)
Food & Drink  –  Two choices – the Richmond Arms and The Bar & Grill.
Swimming Pool  –  Indoor Pool, with jacuzzi, sauna and steam room.
Activities – Fitness, Spa and golf!
Special Features: Goodwood itself! They host a lot of events throughout the year but even if quiet there is always something going on at the Motor Circuit to take a look at. Last year we did a helicopter ride courtesy of a Groupon cheapy so you could combine the two for a special visit.

Rhinefield House, The New Forest

rh rh 1rh 2

A personal favourite of mine is Rhinefield House. A perfect place for afternoon tea, Rhinefield House is like a magical secret, located deep within the New Forest. Serving up an awesome steak with cocktails, beautiful rooms and beautiful grounds! The only downside for me is the spa, although everything else is so lovely I wouldn’t let this put you off. You can also hire an apartment rather than a hotel room as part of the hotel is timeshares. We have done this and it was brilliant, you still get access to all the facilities including room service but have extra rooms to put the kids to bed.

Rooms from £200+ (weekend rates)

Spa – Yes
Food & Drink  –  The 2 AA Rosette restaurant The Armada is a fine dining restaurant and they also have The Grill Room and The Lounge Bar.
Swimming Pool  –  Indoor Pool, with jacuzzi.
Activities – It’s romantic 😉

Careys Manor, The New Forest

The star of this hotel is the spa which is gorgeous! It’s nestled away in the historic trees of Brockenhurst and provides a sanctuary where you can unwind your mind, detox your soul and indulge your senses. A tip is to get a room in the old part of the building, it’s the only 4 poster bed we’ve ever had!

Rooms from £100+ (weekend rates)

Spa – Brilliant, with a special area (that does cost extra) that has another pool, sauna’s, steam rooms and funky showers.
Food & Drink  –  Three choices – fine dining, a traditional brasserie and a thai restaurant.
Swimming Pool  –  Indoor Pool, with jacuzzi, sauna and steam room.
Activities – Cycling, golf and spa,
